No New Bowling Alley Likely At Former Shirley Lanes Site: Panico
What business would you like to see open at the old bowling alley site in Shirley?

SHIRLEY, NY — It looks like there's no hope, at least in the near future, of bowling a lucky strike at the former bowling alley in Shirley.
Despite rumors a'plenty and lots of speculation about what business might be opening at the former AMF Shirley Lanes, located on The Green — the business shuttered in recent years — Brookhaven Town Councilman Dan Panico said Wednesday on social media that a new bowling alley likely wasn't in the cards.
Panico said he'd just spoken to the new owner of the building, "which seems to be the subject of a new rumor daily."

The owner, he said, "has no definitive plans for the property and indicated that he is marketing it for a host of uses, from fitness to medical. Unfortunately, he indicated that he has no plans to proceed with a bowling alley."
Panico promised to update the community with news or plans for the site as they evolve.
