SHIRLEY, NY — A blighted property that was once a centerpiece of the neighborhood could be heading for demolition in Shirley.

Brookhaven Town Councilman Dan Panico said a long-vacant property, located at the corner of Baybright Drive and William Floyd Property, will be the focus of a public hearing on March 25, with both demolition and cleanup discussed.

Residents turned to social media to share memories of the parcel.
