Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck By Car In Mastic

The crash took place just after 8 p.m. Thursday night, police say.

MASTIC, NY — A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Mastic Thursday night, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, the crash took place at 8:05 p.m. on Titmus Drive, south of Boonar Street.

Jonathan Soltan, 24, of Manorville was driving a 2009 Mazda 6 north on Titmus Drive when his car struck Jose Manuel Diaz, 31, of Mastic, who was crossing the street, police said.

Diaz was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition; Soltan was not injured, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-875
