The William Floyd High School varsity bowling team under the leadership of head coach James Healey recently concluded one of the most successful seasons in the program’s history. The Colonials finished in first place in their division with a 13-1 record, securing the League II title and qualifying them for the Suffolk County High School Bowling Championships for the ninth consecutive year. They were also named an All-Academic team due to their excellence in the classroom.
Throughout the season, the Colonials had standout performances from Louis Parrinello, Alex Ramoska and Juan Madera, all of whom averaged over 200 points per game, earning them All-League honors.
“Many of my student-athletes are committed to bowling seven days a week, including additional leagues and tournaments outside of our varsity sport commitment,” said Coach Healey. “The team also has an incredible chemistry that has built up through playing together so much over the years.”
In the Suffolk County High School Bowling Championships, the Colonials placed seventh out of 16 schools and were led by Alex Ramoska, who threw a 707 series with a 279 high game; Louis Parrinello, who threw a 660 series with a 278 high game; Juan Madera, who threw a 683 series with a 246 high game and Erin Tumbrello, who threw a 668 series with a high game of 236.
