BREAKING: The odds of a foot or more of snow are rising. Wind gusts up to 50 mph will cause blizzard conditions. This is a serious storm.

A major winter storm may bury parts of Suffolk County in more than a foot of snow Thursday. The National Weather Service has now issued a winter storm warning, in effect from 1 a.m. until midnight, for the county.
Heavy snow combined with wind gusts up to 50 mph will cause blizzard conditions that could make travel practically impossible.
