Woman Injured Cutting Down Tree In Shirley
Suffolk police said that the woman fell off a ladder when the tree snapped at about 11 a.m.

SHIRLEY, NY — A woman was critically injured while cutting down a tree in Shirley on Friday, Suffolk County police said.
Police said that at about 11 a.m. Tanya Pirro, 44, was on a ladder, cutting down a tree outside of her home on Carnation Drive, when the tree snapped and she fell off the ladder.
Pirro was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital by police helicopter, police said.
