Woman Injured In Long Island Carjacking: Police

She was hit in the head with a metal object in her driveway before two men stole her vehicle, police say. See video of the incident here.

MASTIC, NY — A woman was injured during a carjacking in her driveway, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, the incident took place Saturday at 5:40 p.m. on Burney Boulevard in Mastic. A woman, 66, got out of her 2021 Nissan Sentra in the driveway of her home and was approached by two men, one of whom struck her in the head with a metal object, police said.

The men stole the car keys and fled in the vehicle, police said. The two men were described as white and in their 20s or 30s; a third man was also involved in the robbery and was driving a red Infiniti sedan with a yellow license plate, police said. The stolen vehicle, a rental car, was a gray 2021 Nissan Sentra with New Jersey license plate B38 NCZ, police said.

The woman was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
