Cabbie Arrested After Fatally Hitting 80-Year-Old Woman: NYPD
A cabbie was arrested Saturday after fatally hitting an 80-year-old woman, police said.
NOLITA, NY — A cabbie was arrested for fatally hitting an 80-year-old pedestrian crossing the street Saturday, according to the NYPD.
Bouchouata Miloudi, 44, of Brooklyn, was arrested Saturday after fatally hitting the woman when she was crossing Broome Street in Nolita Saturday about 4:30 p.m., police said.
Miloudi was driving along Centre Street and attempted to turn left onto Broome Street, where the woman was crossing, police said. Officers responded to the intersection and police said they found the woman lying in the road with severe head trauma.

Emergency medical personnel transported her to New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Miloudi was taken into custody at the intersection of the crash and was later arrested for failing to yield to a pedestrian and failing to use due care, police said.
