Michelle Obama's Favorite Workout Studio Coming To SoHo
Boutique fitness studio Solidcore opens Saturday in SoHo.

SOHO, NY — A boutique fitness studio known for being Michelle Obama's favorite workout spot is coming to SoHo this Saturday, the company announced.
Solidcore is opening up a SoHo digs Saturday, May 18 — the first of five locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn the company is adding to its Chelsea outpost this year.
"In its philosophy and practice, [solidcore] is a proven success," Anne Mahlum, chief executive officer of the company, said in a statement. "In New York and across the country, our expanding clientele have fallen in love with our rigorous fitness program, commitment to quality and their customer experience. We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in the New York market."

Solidcore's workouts are 50-minute, full-body workouts with a machine specifically designed for the company. The company call its a "unique twist" on Pilates and bootcamp style classes.
The former First Lady has been spotted at the studio in Washington D.C. — and it's known for being Obama's favorite, the Washington Post reported back in 2014.

The company has 48 studios across 15 states, including D.C.
By the end of 2020, the company wants to open 100 "[solidcore]" studios nationwide, according to a news release.
Here are the five locations Solidcore plans to open this year:
- SoHo, 261 Hudson St., opening May 18
- NoMad, opening June 2019
- Williamsburg, opening August 2019
- Hell's Kitchen, opening October 2019
- Nolita, opening November 2019
