Mulberry St. Library Hosts Panel On Muslim Writers In The US
The Nolita library will feature Muslim writers for a panel on narrating diversity for Immigrant Heritage Week.

NOLITA, NY — The Mulberry Street Library is hosting a panel on "narrating diversity" with four Muslim writers in an event coinciding with the city's Immigrant Heritage Week.
"Narrating Diversity: Muslim Writers in Contemporary America" is scheduled Saturday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the New York Public Library's Mulberry Street branch, located at 10 Jersey St. between Mulberry and Lafayette Sts.
Muslims for American Progress, a project under the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, is organizing the free event with four Muslim writers to talk about diversity and what diverse writers' work can unveil about American society.

Author of "This Muslim American Life: Dispatches from the War On Terror," Moustafa Bayoumi; journalist and co-founder of the Muslim Writers Collective Hamdan Azhar; playwright and actress Aizzah Fatima; and journalist and social media editor at HuffPost Rowaida Abdelaziz will discuss Muslim writers contributions to American society and how they narrate diversity.
Elisabeth Becker, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Virginia and investigator of Muslim for American Progress' MAP-NYC project, will moderate the discussion.
