Second L'Occitane Store Coming To SoHo

A new L'Occitane store is opening at 63 Spring St.

SOHO, NY — A new L'Occitane store is coming to SoHo, the second one to crop up in the hyper-concentrated shopping district.

Signs in the window at 63 Spring St. show that a new outpost of the French beauty product store will open in Fall 2017. A L'Occitane rep did not immediately respond to an email from Patch asking when the store would open, and whether the chain's existing SoHo store would remain open. The company already maintains a store at 146 Spring St., a short five-minute walk away from the planned store.

The space at 63 Spring St. has been empty for several years, emblematic of SoHo's recent problem in keeping tenants who are willing to pay spiraling rent prices. Several pop-up shops have opened in the space, but no tenant has signed a permanent lease since 2014, according to Bowery Boogie.
