SoHo Restaurant Balthazar Named James Beard Finalist
SoHo's Balthazar was one of five restaurants nationwide named a James Beard finalist for outstanding restaurant.

SOHO, NY — Balthazar, a French restaurant in SoHo, was named a James Beard finalist for outstanding restaurant Wednesday.
The SoHo eatery was the only New York City restaurant named as a finalist in the category, which is for established eateries that have been in business at least 10 consecutive years.
Balthazar was one of five named a finalist for outstanding restaurant nationwide.

Balthazar, located at 80 Spring St., opened in 1997, serving French dishes, including a fresh seafood and shellfish menu items. Well-known restauranteur Keith McNally leads the SoHo mainstay.
The James Beard Foundation announced the finalists Wednesday, with several New York City establishments and chefs seeking the prestigious award, known as the Oscars of the culinary world.
