SOHO, NY — A teenager who cops cuffed for robbing a Soho nail salon briefly escaped police custody near Manhattan central booking, but was caught moments later when an officer on a smoke break nabbed her, police sources told the Daily News.
Officers arrested Kylaysia Thompson, 18, Monday morning for allegedly stealing two credit cards from the purse of a nail salon worker at Soho's Think Pink Spa on West Broadway near Prince Street. In the midst of police transporting her for processing in Lower Manhattan, Thompson made a run for for it, the newspaper reported.
The teen was sitting in a police cruiser when she managed to slip underneath her cuffed hands and position them in front of her body. From there, she wormed her way through an open window and bolted down the block, sources told the paper.
