SoHo's Prince Street Pizza Announces New Location

The announcement comes at the famed SoHo business is feuding with a new Upper West Side spot over the recipe to its most popular slice.

SOHO, NY — One of the businesses at the heart of New York City's latest pizza feud announced plans to open a second location while taking a jab at its rival.

SoHo's Prince Street Pizza, creators of the famed "Spicy Spring" square slice, revealed that a new location is in the works, but did not hint at when or where the offshoot would open. The announcement was made while the business posted a screenshot of an Eater New York review of its Upper West Side rivals Made In New York Pizza titled "Prince Street Pizza's Copycat is not Nearly as Good."

Instagram commenters speculated about the location of Prince Street's second store. Many predicted the trendy slice spot would venture into Brooklyn, while others picked more out-of-the-box locations such as Boston and Los Angeles.

Prince Street Pizza's owner Frank Morano is taking former employee Frank Badali to court for attempting to copy the pizzeria's acclaimed Spicy Spring slice. The Sicilian-style slice — loaded with pepperoni and topped with garlic and a spicy tomato sauce — draws lines down the block at Prince Street's SoHo location.

The restaurateur behind Made In New York Pizza denied the recipe theft and instead told Eater that Badali — who helped develop some of Prince Street's recipes while he worked there — made "noticeable changes and improvements" to the slice. The duo plan to open a second location of Made In New York Pizza in Hell's Kitchen.
