Spring Street Adidas Flagship Store Opens to the Public

The company moved to a larger space after 14 years on Wooster Street.

SOHO, NY — Adidas opened up its new, bigger flagship store on Spring Street on Wednesday after 14 years of inhabiting the smaller space on Wooster Street. The new store features a heavenly wall of sneakers and a more modern layout, and it will feature designer limited editions and collections, according to the company's press release.

"The new adidas Originals flagship store concept has proven to add further momentum to our success story around the globe," said Arthur Hoeld, General Manager of adidas Originals, in a press release. "The store allows us to provide new and exciting experiences for our customers, in addition to celebrating the city they call home. We are happy to open this new flagship in New York City — an epicenter for creativity and culture."

There will be events and installations regularly in the store to cultivate a sense of community and bonding over streetwear and sneakers. The adidas Originals VP of product, Torben Schumacher, told Footwear News in an interview about the new store:

With every flagship store, we use the surroundings as its inspiration, so this store is of course unlike any other flagship. Local salvaged items and architecture informed the interior and we will invite local creators to continue the Originals Soho story moving forward. Stay tuned.

Sneakernews has several glossy photos of the new space. The building used to be the Allouche Gallery, which closed in September 2015.
