Soho Pop-Up Bar Has Star Wars Theme

A pop-up bar is bringing everything Star Wars to Soho nightlife.

SOHO, NY — A Star War themed pop-up bar is open in Soho, welcoming jedis and padawans alike for drinks, music, events and costumes all from a galaxy far, far away.

The pop-up bar, appropriately named the DarkSide, has taken over pubs in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. in addition to New York City. The Manhattan version of the DarkSide is located at 201 Lafayette St., which usually houses the San Remo cafe.

The DarkSide is promising nightly events and parties, including an intergalactic burlesque show with performers from different planets. If you're looking to make a deeper connection, the bar will also offer "alien speed dating." More standard club options like themed dance and DJ nights, trivia and other game nights will also be hosted at the club.

Jedis and their ilk are encouraged, but not required, to come in costume, the bar notes. In addition to Star Wars-inspired programming, the bar will also offer six speciality cocktails plus a "galaxy inspired" menu of small bites and sharing plates.

For $33, you can buy an advance ticket for the DarkSide that will get you entrance to the bar plus two speciality cocktails. Tickets for walk-ins are $40, but the bar's organizers encourage fans to buy their tickets in advance.
