BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — Bridgehampton residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday. The $18,689,852 million proposed budget was approved by a margin of 133 to 64.
The budget represents a 14.68 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 10.83 percent hike in the school tax levy. That is within the state's tax cap for the district so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.
Five board of education candidates were vying for two open seats, with winners incumbent Jennifer Vinski receiving 135 and Carla Lillie, 81.
