Firefighters from Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Sag Harbor, North Sea, Hampton Bays, East Quogue and Westhampton Beach were among the departments responding to the scene, Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley told the paper.

The fire broke out in a kitchen while the residents were home and spread to the surrounding walls and ceiling, Epley said. The residents evacuated and no injuries were reported among them. Several firefighters were taken to Southampton Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and elevated blood pressure, according to 27East.com.
