Father, Son, Family Dog Escape Southampton House Fire
The fire broke out in a Southampton home Wednesday night, officials say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Firefighters battled a large blaze at a house in Southampton Wednesday evening.
According to Chris Brenner, public information officer for the Southampton Fire Department, the call came in at 6:35 p.m. about a fire at a home on North Main Street. A father and his teenage son were home in the kitchen area when they saw and smelled smoke, Brenner said.
"They opened the basement door, saw more smoke, and exited the house with the family dog," Brenner said. "They got out unscathed, with no injuries and no smoke inhalation."
