Kanye West's Water Mill Performance Canceled

The Watermill Center's show will go on — without Kanye West.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The announcement that Kanye West would be performing at the annual Watermill Center’s summer benefit came as a surprise to many East Enders. And now comes an even more surprising announcement: West will not be appearing at the Saturday event.

Page Six is reporting that reps for the event say: “Robert Wilson and Kanye West have made an artistic decision to postpone their collaboration.”

Wilson is the Watermill Center’s artistic director, and he and West were collaborating on West’s performance at the 23rd Annual Summer Benefit & Auction. The event, which raises funds to support The Watermill Center’s year-round artist residency and education programs, will go on without West this year.
