Killer Bees Come Up Short Against Babylon in B-C-D Game

Bridgehampton competed Saturday afternoon at Longwood.

After taking the Suffolk County Class D Championship and then defeating the C-qualifiers, the Bridgehampton Killer Bees fell to the Babylon Panthers in the B-C-D playoff game Saturday afternoon, 45-34.

Babylon was down early to Bridgehampton before forcing a 22-6 run until the end of the first half, including an impressive 12-4 point difference in the entire second quarter, shutting the Killer Bees down.

Babylon moves on the Suffolk County (Section XI) playoffs to face the Class A champion, Amityville, this Tuesday at Longwood High School for the Small Schools Championship. The winner of that game faces the large schools champion for the title of Section XI champion.

The Killer Bees are slated to compete in the regional semifinals on March 5 against the Section IX Class D champions. The location is to be announced. The winner of that match-up will advance to the regional finals versus the Section I Class D champs.
