Local Residents Participate in Great East End Clean-Up

Just in time for Earth Day, the Great East End Clean-Up, an effort to remove trash in public areas across Southampton Town, took place this past weekend.

This year, over 750 residents participated in the two day clean up.

Southampton Town Councilwoman Christine Scalera sponsored the clean up for the second year in a row.

Along with a group of local residents, Scalera spent the day cleaning the bayside of Pikes Beach in the Westhampton Dunes, while another group of volunteers cleaned the ocean side of the Town Beach.

Each year hundreds of residents of all ages participate in the program to clean-up locations such as roadsides, trails, parks, and beaches.
