Man Dies In North Sea Crash: Police
Police have identified the man killed in a North Sea crash Wednesday.
NORTH SEA, NY — A North Sea man died in a single-car crash on Noyack Road Wednesday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 1:23 p.m. Officers found a 2012
Ford F350 landscaping truck crashed into a wooded area off the roadway, police said. The sole occupant, Anthony "Tony" Abbey, 49, died in the crash, police said.

Abbey was headed east on Noyack Road when he left the roadway, hit a road sign and then a tree before his truck wedged between two others, police said.
When first responders were finally able to reach him, they performed CPR; Abbey was taken to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The road was closed for an hour and a half while detectives investigated the cause of the crash, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Southampton Town Police detectives at 631-702-2230.
