Man's Leg Impaled On Metal Object; 'Life-Threatening' Injury
He had been working at his home when he was impaled on the metal, police say.
FLANDERS, NY — A man's leg was impaled on a metal object in Flanders Friday morning, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 9:20 a.m. when the man, 47, was working at his home.
When police arrived, they found the man, who was being tended to for a "severe life-threatening laceration" by others at the residence; a tourniquet was applied to his leg to stop the blood loss, authorities said. He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for further treatment, police said.
