There are a ton of events going on at night in Riverhead that sound like a lot of fun on New Years Eve. The Long Island Aquarium has a buffet dinner, dancing, cash bar and an you can also visit the Aquarium. The Suffolk theater has dancing , a comedian and a live broadcast of the ball drop on a big screen TV. East Wind has a hot and cold buffet a Champaign toast and a party. Also Hotel Indigo has Jazz.
