No Cases Confirmed, Sag Harbor Schools Close Due To Coronavirus
The district, officials say, closed with an eye toward being proactive in embracing the health and safety of all involved.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Although no cases of coronavirus have been confirmed, the Sag Harbor School District is closed for students through Sunday.
The decision was made in "an effort to be proactive in protecting the health and safety of our school community,"Eleanor Tritt, interim superintendent of schools, said.
The school will be closed through Sunday for students; faculty and staff will report to school Thursday and Friday to further develop learning opportunities for students to access while school is not in session, a letter to parents said.

The closures affect all programming within the district, including before- and after-school activities, all athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions, and weekend and community events using district facilities.
"We understand and empathize with the significant burden this may place on our families and their own daily schedules. However, this decision has been made with what we believe is in the best interest of the health and safety of our school population and community," said district officials.
