NY Beaches, Pools Open For Memorial Day, With Social Distancing

LONG ISLAND, NY — New York beaches and pools will be open by Memorial Day weekend — with 6-foot social distancing still mandated.

With the coronavirus positivity rate continuing to fall — Monday's positivity rate stood at 1.1 percent — Cuomo said the hope is that by July 4, beaches will be at 100 percent capacity, so people can have "a normal summer."
