Phillippe Petit, Tightrope Impresario, to Perform in East Hampton

On the 40th anniversary of Petit's performance at the World Trade Towers, the artist will walk across water.

Exactly 40 years after Philippe Petit made history walking a tightrope stretched between the World Trade Center Towers he will perform for a select group of East End guests courtesy of the Longhouse in East Hampton.

Tickets to “Look UP!” which will begin at 7 p.m. on August 7 are available online . Petit will traverse the same distance as his memorable performance 40 years earlier, but this time the wire will be suspended over a pond on the property of Mary Jane and Charles Brock.

Following the tightrope spectacle, guests will enjoy a champagne supper to the accompaniment of Paul Winter on soprano saxophone and dramatic readings by the actress Melissa Leo from Petit’s memoir “To Reach the Clouds.”
