Police Promoted In Ceremony Adhering To Coronavirus Protocols

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The pandemic couldn't stop the Southampton Town Police Department from holding a modified promotion ceremony Thursday to honor longtime officials.

The ceremony was orchestrated to adhere to all coronavirus protocols, police said.

During the ceremony, Michael Joyce, a 33-year veteran of the department was promoted from sergeant to lieutenant and Michael Walsh, a 13-year veteran of the department, was promoted from detective to sergeant.
