Bridgehampton Woman Pleads Guilty in 'Prom Houses' Case

A 54-year-old Bridgehampton woman who allegedly worked with Lee Hnetinka to rent out Hamptons homes under false pretenses to host after-prom parties for high schoolers pleaded guilty Friday to multiple counts of renting homes without a permit, according to Newsday.

Newsday reports that Leslie Jennemann has agreed to pay $35,000 in fines, but Hnetinka's case is still pending, and he is free on $55,000 bail pending his Nov. 1 appearance at Southampton Town Justice Court.

The East Hampton Star reported in July that Hnetinka, of Jericho, had rented out at least one of the houses under the guise of a family reunion. In reality, according to The Star, he hosted multi-day parties for teenagers at an Amagansett home, and charged $355 per person for a weekend.

On June 26, the Southampton Town Board adopted a resolution giving the town attorney the go-ahead to file temporary restraining orders against landlords and homeowners whose houses were allegedly used for after-prom parties. According to resolution, the homes are located on Brick Kiln Road and Noyac Road in Noyac; Jeffrey Lane and Laura Court in East Quogue; Parrish Pond Lane and Montauk Highway in Shinnecock Hills; and Water Mill Towd Road in Water Mill.
