Residents Turn Out To Approve Sag Harbor School Budget
See who won the Board of Education race.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Sag Harbor residents approved a 2019-2020 $42,885,375 million proposed school budget by a margin of 761 to 347.
The budget reflects a 2.40 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 3.00 percent hike in the school tax levy. That is within the state's tax cap for the district so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.
Six board of education candidates were vying for three seats — Yorgos Tsibiridis, Caleb Kercheval, Chris Tice, Brian DeSesa, Thomas McErlean and Julian Barrowcliffe — and the winners were incumbent Chris Tice with 674, Yorgos Tsibiridis with 666, and Brian DeSesa with 548.
