'Sex and the City' Author Candace Bushnell Scoops Up $680K Home in Sag Harbor

The celebrity is the latest to join the star-studded lineup who enjoy Hamptons luxury and pristine shorelines.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - Sag Harbor's set to heat up this summer.

Author Candace Bushnell, famous for penning the collection of essays and book the hit TV series "Sex and the City"was based upon, recently snagged a home in Sag Harbor.

According to the New York Post, the property comes with an original historic barn from the 1800s which sources say Bushnell wants to restore.

It’s no surprise that Bushnell ended up purchasing in the Hamptons as she’s spent many summers on the South Fork and last year, spoke glowingly about Sag Harbor when she was interviewed in the Observer at her home in Connecticut.

“The great thing about the Hamptons is that you really can live in the Hamptons and not live in the Hamptons in the Hamptons way,” she said. “Two of my best girlfriends just moved to Sag Harbor. And it’s so much fun to go there and visit them. It’s so cute, and of course, they’re both single women, and they both have these little houses, but they’re charming. And it’s so easy to get around and walk everywhere.”

As for inviting Sarah Jessica Parker, the star of "Sex and the City" who lives in Amagansett, to visit once Bushnell moves in, some sources claim the two women have never been BFFs.

But Bushnell denies that there's any feud between them: "I love Sarah. I know it sounds so corny. She's never been anything but absolutely lovely and charming to me," she told the Daily News.
