Short Surf Films Sought for Atlantic Vibrations, Vol. 2 at The Parrish Art Museum

The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill is inviting East End filmmakers to submit short surf movies to be considered for Atlantic Vibrations, Vol. 2—an outdoor screening of noncommercial surf films at the Parrish Art Museum on Friday, August 22, 2014, 8 pm. There is no entry fee for submissions. Films will be selected for the screening by photographer/filmmaker Michael Halsband, artist Mike Solomon, and surf film producer/promoter Tyler Breuer.

The films, which may include all genres from experimental to documentary, must be no longer than 10 minutes. The setting is not restricted to the East End, but the filmmakers must reside between Westhampton and Montauk.

To have their films considered, filmmakers are asked to send a link to their video and a brief synopsis of the project to Andrea Grover, Curator of Special Projects, at programs@parrishart.org, with the subject line: "Atlantic Vibrations Entry." The deadline is July 23, 2014.

Created as a platform for emerging and established filmmakers, Atlantic Vibrations acknowledges the timeless connection between art, film, and surfing. Atlantic Vibrations, Vol. 1 debuted last summer at the Parrish to a sold out audience. Because of last year’s success, the program is being moved outdoors this summer to accommodate a larger audience.
