Southampton Town Arrest Report: DWI, Criminal Impersonation, Brass Knuckles

A look at recent crime in Southampton Township.

The following incidents were reported by the Town of Southampton Police Department. All parties mentioned are innocent until proven guilty.

  • Brian Smrcka, 51, of Southampton was arrested on driving while intoxicated charges after being pulled over for a traffic infraction on Squires Lane in Hampton Bays on May 8. Smrcka was charged with Driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned on May 9 at Southampton Town Justice Court.
  • Robert Noble, 57, of Hampton Bays, was charged with Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree and failing to pay a fine on May 9 after he allegedly identified himself as another person while being a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by police. Police reported Noble wanted “to avoid being arrested for a bench warrant.” He was arraigned on May 10 at Southampton Town Justice.
  • Donna James, 47, of Southampton, was arrested on May 9 in Hampton Bays after her vehicle was stopped for a vehicle registration violation on Flanders Road. Further investigation revealed James was in possession of a controlled substance and and brass knuckles. James was charged with Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, a felony. She was arraigned on May 10 at Southampton Town Justice Court.
