1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured In Patterson Head-On Crash

PATTERSON, NY — A Sunday night head-on two-car crash in Putnam County left one person dead and one in critical condition. The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Route 22 near Route 311.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department has not released the names of the victims, but said one person from each car was airlifted to the hospital, the Journal News reported.

A sheriff's department spokesperson said one of the cars was traveling north on Route 22 and crossed the double yellow line, striking a southbound vehicle.
