2-Year-Old Pulled From Mahopac Pool Thursday Afternoon
Carmel police officers and Putnam County Sheriff's deputies set up roadblocks and escorted the ambulance to the hospital.

MAHOPAC, NY — A 2-year-old drowning victim was being treated at Westchester Medical Center Thursday evening.
Carmel Police, Mahopac Ambulance and EMStar paramedics responded to See Avenue at 4:19 p.m. for a report that a toddler had drowned and been pulled from a pool.
Officer Daniel Shea was first on scene and began CPR on the child until he was joined by Medic No. 3 and Mahopac ambulance personnel, police said. The child was intubated and then transported to Putnam Hospital Center by Mahopac Ambulance.

Carmel police officers and deputies from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department set up road blocks and escorted the ambulance to the hospital.
Once at the hospital, the child was transferred onto a Lifenet medivac helicopter and flown to Westchester County Medical Center. At 8:18 p.m. the child was still alive and being treated at WMC, police said.
