Brewster High School Inducts State Senator into Bears' Den

in thanks for a recent state grant that helped refurbish the baseball field

BREWSTER, NY - Brewster High School has refurbished its baseball field with help from a $40,000 state grant.

State Senator Terrence Murphy visited the high school recently to check out the refurbished field.

The school band and color guard, and the district's newly appointed Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Valerie Henning-Piedmonte, Board President Dr. Stephen O. Jambor, and many of the school's board members, teachers, coaches and athlete's representing Brewster's baseball, softball and wrestling teams were on hand to thank the Senator for supporting their athletic programs.

Dean Berardo, the school's athletic director, presented Murphy with a school shirt, making him an official member of the Bears' Den.

"As the newest member of the Bears' Den I am thrilled to be able to provide the financial support our student athletes needed," Murphy said in a press release about the event. "Today's gathering of the administration, school board, faculty, staff and athletes illustrates what can happen when we work as a team on and off the field. I wish the Bears the best of luck in the upcoming season and look forward to providing additional from New York State."
