Brewster Italian American Club Does Annual Earth Day Clean-Up
Members tackled a mile-long stretch of Route 22 with gloves and bags.

BREWSTER, NY — Several members of the Italian American Club spent part of their Saturday in a community cleanup for Earth Day.
The annual event always starts at the club building on Route 22 and spreads out from there for at least half-a-mile each way.
"We do this as a community service and you know between that and our First Responders dinner we like to help out as much as we can," member Randall Calano told Patch. "Unfortunately the pandemic is still keeping a lot of people inside or giving them a good excuse to stay away from public activities."

The group was treated to a breakfast made by Maurizio Cacciotti, past president.
They filled up five huge trash bags just covering the mile north and south of the club. Their most unusual find was a wallet, which will be turned over to Southeast Town Supervisor Tony Hay, Calano said.
