Brewster Leak Investigation May Lead to Water Shut-off Wednesday

The work will be done near the intersection of Allview Avenue and Route 6.

BREWSTER, NY — Brewster's Public Works Department will be investigating a water leak near the intersection of Allview Avenue and Route 6 on Wednesday that may require an interruption of water service.

Crews will be working opposite the entrance to Lia Honda on Allview Avenue, in the westerly travel lane.

Water main shutdown will most likely be necessary to complete the excavation, expose the water line and make repairs, village officials said.

The work will begin at approximately 8 a.m., and the anticipated shutdown time is between 8 a.m. & 9 a.m. It should last about two to four hours; however, the actual time and duration of any shutdown is an unknown until the excavation takes place.

  • Allview Avenue
  • Meadow Lane
  • Rt. 6 East beyond the railroad trestle and Argonne Road

If the water is shut off discoloration in water clarity may occur upon resumption of service, village officials warned.
