CARMEL, NY — A second Putnam County resident arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol has achieved notoriety for the way his role was discovered.

Robert Chapman, also known on social media as Robert Erick, apparently boasted about it on a dating app and the recipient turned him in, according to a federal affidavit.

The FBI investigation turned up more, including body-camera footage from the Metropolitan Police Department. "During the video, 'Robert Chapman' is seen filming the activity inside of the U.S. Capitol using his cellular telephone," said the FBI agent in an affidavit, adding that screen captures from that video showed a time and date stamp.
