Why choose that location? Why start a business in this town?

I was born and raised in Brewster and the town never had a childcare learning center that catered to the working parents. Most nursery schools were half day and closed at 4 pm. I have always been a working parent and had to travel with my children to a childcare facility that could accommodate my hours. Now Brewster has a safe, nurturing and convenient childcare center that opens at 6:30 a.m. and stays open until 7:00 p.m.

Briefly, what business are you in?

I am in the childcare learning center business caring for children 6 weeks old up to 12 years old with a full before and after school program.

Were there any challenges that made you second-guess your decision to be an entrepreneur?

Not really I enjoy what I do tremendously

What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?

I have had a few. Every year Creative Kids hold a graduation for all the preschool children that will be entering Kindergarten. I love watching their proud little faces as they do their skits while all their parents and grandparents, etc watch them. An other moment is when some of my children who have graduated years ago, come back to work for me.

What’s the most innovative idea your employees or customers have had that you put into practice?

Yes there are several. Parents night out, School Choice Week, Read Around the World and Art Week.

How do you deal with difficult customers?

Always smile!!

How does your business give back or get involved in the community?

We hold free events at the center on the weekends. Check our website frequently.
