Dutchess Man Accused Of Dumping Construction Debris In Putnam
Authorities said the debris was illegally dumped on state park land.
PHILIPSTOWN, NY — A Dutchess County man was accused of dumping debris illegally on state park land.
Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley Jr. said his office received a call around 2:30 p.m. Sunday that a person was dumping debris over an embankment along Indian Brook Road in the area of Route 9D overpass in the town of Philipstown.
A deputy sheriff responded to the area and found a large pile of construction debris, while another deputy sheriff searched for the man who they said was responsible.

The man, who is a Beacon resident, was quickly located and arrested, the sheriff's office said.
He was charged with littering under the town of Philipstown local law.

Additionally, the state Park Police and Environmental Conservation Police assisted in the case. Both charged him with violations under the state Parks law and the state Conservation law.
