The First .1 K Run/Walk Kicks off a Season of Good Coffee!!
Get in shape to run or walk 328 feet!
“Good Coffee in the Great Room . . . and Music!,” the marvelous monthly coffee house of music and good times at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, will hold the First Annual .1 K Run/Walk on Sept. 16.
Yes, that decimal point is in the right spot. The race is one-tenth of a kilometer or about 328 feet. Runners and walkers will start out in the church parking lot and travel one tenth of a kilometer around the historic church to the Great Hall, having fun and raising money for the church’s Building and Roof Fund on the way.
The event kicks off the fall season of Coffeehouses on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m. Not only will there be not-so-serious exercise and racing competition, the afternoon will feature musical acts, an art exhibit, and a raffle.

St. Andrew’s was built in 1903. The building needs repair and your help for us to make those repairs a reality! Come walk, run, or cheer on the participants and enjoy music from some of our Coffeehouse regulars and new performers, along with an art exhibit including works from our most talented parishioners, friends of St. Andrew’s, and more!
The registration fee is $10 for anyone over age 12, $5 per leashed pet, and free for children under age 12. The entry fee includes a T-shirt, a wristband, entrance to the coffeehouse, and refreshments.

We ask, but don’t require, that participants get friends and family to raise pledges for the number of feet they run or walk before their feet give out. Anyone who raises more than $100 will receive special recognition. Prizes will also be given to the individual and team that raises the most money in pledges.
The event will occur rain or shine. We are talking about 328 feet here, so how wet can you get if it rains?
St. Andrew’s is on the corner of Prospect Street and Michael Neuner Drive in the Village of Brewster. For more information, call the church office at 845-279-4325.
Start training now. You don’t want to pull a hamstring on race day.
