Gallery 25 Announces Call For Photographers for Open Show

Drop off Monday, February 18

Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio, an art gallery dedicated to promoting and fostering an appreciation of the arts through education programs and showcasing the work of local artists from western Connecticut, is excited to announce a “Call For Artists” to participate in their upcoming first annual Open Photography Show, with cash prizes totaling $850. The photography show will run from February 22nd through March 10th with an opening reception on Saturday, February 23rd from 5:00-7:00PM. Awards will be announced at 6:00PM.

Who can apply? The call for photographers is open to both analog and digital photography. Images may be edited in the darkroom or with software. No multimedia work. All images must be taken by photographer. Delivery for all work will be Monday, February 18th from 3:30-7:30PM only. “We are excited and proud to bring this opportunity to showcase our local photographers and display their works at Gallery 25’s first annual Open Photography Show. There are so many incredibly talented photographers in the area and we’re looking forward to a really high quality show” said show chairwoman, Linda McMillan. Two guest judges for the open show include award winning photographers John Kane from New Milford and Tom Kretsch from Westport. “These judges represent an exceptional talent in the photography world and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have their expertise in judging the show” said Gallery 25 Executive Director Diane Dubreuil.

With guidance from the New Milford Commission on the Arts, Gallery 25 was founded in the fall of 2014 as a cooperative-style art gallery representing local and regional award-winning artists and artisans. Gallery exhibitions, both then and now, include a wide variety of unique fine art and fine artisan creations in a wide range of media. Renewing interest and growth in the local art scene is a priority of the gallery and its member artists.

Gallery 25 is conveniently located at 11 Railroad Street at the historic train station in New Milford, Connecticut (www.gallery25ct.com). Gallery hours are Friday and Saturday, 12PM to 7PM, Sunday, 12 Pm to 5 pm or by appointment (phone 860-355-6009). Admission is free. Ample free parking is available.
