Isaias: Almost All Of Putnam County Out Of Power

As the tropical storm passed, it blocked roads and brought outages to most of Putnam County.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — Most of Putnam County was left without power by the high winds and heavy rains of Tropical Storm Isaias.

NYSEG reported as of 5:15 p.m.:

  • Brewster, 835 of 1,217 customers were out
  • Carmel: 11,704 of 14,459 customers
  • Kent: 5,817 of 5,825 customers
  • Patterson: 4,460 of 4,529 customers
  • Putnam Valley: 4,894 of 5,265 customers
  • Southeast: 5,983 of 7,323 customers

NYSEG is still assessing the damage and has not offered estimates of power restoration.

On Facebook, County Executive MaryEllen Odell said, "Please stay off the roads if possible. If you have to be out please be careful."
