Thousands Lose Power In The Hudson Valley
The high, gusty winds are expected to end by 10 p.m.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The high, gusty winds whipping through the region Friday is causing power outages across the Hudson Valley. With more than 3,000 reported out by the four power companies as of 5:40 p.m., here is an overview.
NYSEG reported 1,830 customers without power in Dutchess County, most of them around Pawling; 326 out in Putnam, most in Carmel; and 32 customers out in Westchester.
O&R reported 451 customers out in Rockland County and 4 in Orange County. While damage assessment was still ongoing in Orange, O&R predicted power would be back in Rockland by 9:20 p.m.

Central Hudson reported 242 customers out in Ulster County; 69 customers out in Putnam; 50 customers out in Dutchess; and 36 in Orange. Estimated recovery times range from midnight to 1 a.m.
Con Edison reported 323 customers out in Westchester County, a small portion of its 1,616 customers out of power in the NYC metro area. The company predicted power would be back on by 9:30 p.m.
