He was a former member of the Brewster Volunteer Fire Department and fire police.

Donald C. LaMere Sr., a lifelong resident of Brewster, New York, died on Monday May 3, 2021 at North Westchester Restorative in Mohegan Lake, NY. He was 82 years old.
Born on November 16, 1938 in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Ralph and Anna (Brady) LaMere. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Brewster where he continued to live until his death. Donald was a 1959 graduate of Brewster High School.

On May 8, 1965 he married the love of his life, Victoria Cilenti, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster.
Don was a truck driver with the Town of Southeast Highway Department for 15 years before retiring in 2004. Prior to working for the town, he worked nights for A&P in Brewster for 20 years, retiring in 1988.

He was an active lifelong parishioner of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. He was a former member of the Brewster Volunteer Fire Department and fire police. Don enjoyed dancing and taking long walks. He was a people person and enjoyed making conversation with everyone he met. His family was his greatest passion and he looked forward to the time he spent with them.
Mr. LaMere is not only survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Vicki, but also his children, Michele McIntyre of Brewster, NY; Donald C. LaMere Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Seaford, NY; his 5 grandchildren, Michael, Brooke and Nicholas LaMere and Courtney and Maura McIntyre. He was predeceased by his brother Edward LaMere.
Visitation will be held on Saturday May 8, 2021 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 2pm-6pm. A service will be held during the visitation at 4pm. A private cremation will take place afterward.
