Matthew J. Tuohy, 88, died at his home on November 25, 2020.
Matthew was born in Brooklyn, on September 20, 1932. He served in the Army stateside during the Korean War with the Old Guard.

On May 24, 1958 he married Catherine Costello. They moved to Brewster in 1965 where they raised 9 children (Marie, Thomas, Barbara, Noreen, Raymond, Christine, Marykate, Andrew, Gerard). He enjoyed being known as a grouch, but truly loved family and hosted many memorable gatherings.
Matthew served the FDNY from 1959-1993. This was his calling and his proudest moments were when he served in the Tin House (Engine 85) during the “War Years”.

Matthew was predeceased by his wife Catherine on November 26, 2019. He loved and was loved by his children, their spouses, 19 grandchildren, brother, sisters and inlaws, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 the Mass of Christian burial and interment will be private.
