One Airlifted After Accident On Baldwin Place Road

Three people were injured in the two-car crash, according to news reports.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — One person was airlifted and others were taken by ambulance to hospitals after a serious two-car crash on Baldwin Place Road at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The cars were totaled, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department officials said on Facebook. The flight crew from the LifeNet helicopter helped firefighters stabilize one of the victims during the 35 minutes it took to extricate them from the car.

Two others were taken by ambulance for treatment of injuries, the Daily Voice reported.

Among the agencies responding or standing by under mutual aid were the Carmel Police Department, Mahopac EMS, Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Putnam County Battalion 16 and the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services.

Baldwin Place Road was closed from Grand Meadow Drive to Route 6 for about five hours.
