A Heat Advisory will remain in effect in our entire region until 8 PM on 7/7/21. A Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is between 95 to 99 degrees for at least two days or between 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time. For today 7/7/21 we expect a high of 92 degrees which when combined with the humidity will make it feel like 98 degrees
We are still monitoring Tropical Storm Elsa which is beginning to make landfall on the North Florida Gulf coast. The exact track of the storm once it makes landfall is uncertain however we expect to see the remnants late Thursday into Friday. The expected impact is mainly moisture.

Homes without air conditioning can be much hotter than outdoor temperatures. Use air conditioning to stay cool at home or go to a place that has air conditioning. Use box fans and ceiling fans to promote air circulation.
Use water to cool. Fill large containers with water and soak your feet. Use wet towels to cool down by wrapping around your neck and shoulders or use a soaked bandana on your head.
The basements of most buildings can provide welcome relief from heat.
